La luz, en su relación dialéctica con la sombra, es un elemento fundamental del espacio arquitectónico.

Los proyectos toman forma a partir del estudio del contexto y de una iluminación que se integre en el entorno para hacerlo evocador, teniendo en cuenta que la luz vive en el momento y cambia constantemente.

Por lo tanto, la luz convierte a la arquitectura, de por sí inmóvil, en un elemento en continuo cambio.

La iluminación, desde la luz natural hasta la electrónica, es un elemento que influye en nuestra psique, suscitando sensaciones, emociones y sentimientos.. 

Es esencial que los proyectos se basen en un conocimiento técnico sólido, fundado en las tecnologías más innovadoras aplicables a la iluminación artificial, así como en el uso de la luz natural. Este conocimiento es también una herramienta clave para desarrollar proyectos que cuiden la fisicalidad y las necesidades de las personas: una iluminación adecuada debe en efecto adaptarse al ojo humano y compensar posibles disfunciones visuales.

Finalmente, el proyecto debe considerar la sostenibilidad económica y ambiental.

SECTORES Y ÁREAS

Partiendo de los intereses y áreas de aplicación de los proyectos del Estudio –arquitectura, arte y espectáculos– se proponen ambientes luminosos que abarcan desde el territorio urbano al aire libre –iluminación de centros urbanos y áreas verdes–, hasta el patrimonio cultural –iluminación de museos, monumentos y edificios históricos– y los ambientes domésticos.
La mayoría de los proyectos en los que el Estudio ha participado están relacionados con la iluminación de espacios expositivos –exposiciones, museos, eventos–, edificios históricos y entornos residenciales.

Dado que la investigación y el trabajo de laboratorio son partes esenciales del trabajo, en algunos casos, si el proyecto lo requiere, se diseñan aparatos de iluminación a medida.
El Estudio también ofrece evaluaciones y asesorías específicas en el campo de la iluminación técnica.

CON QUIÉN Y PARA QUIÉN

Cada proyecto de iluminación es el resultado de una estrecha colaboración con arquitectos, paisajistas, urbanistas e ingenieros, quienes, al combinar sus competencias profesionales, contribuyen a la realización del proyecto arquitectónico o artístico en su completitud

El objetivo del «arquitecto de las luces» es interpretar los deseos del cliente creando ambientes luminosos inmersivos y cargados de emociones.
Por lo tanto, el principal interlocutor del Estudio es el cliente, ya sea un arquitecto, una administración pública, una entidad institucional, un museo o un cliente privado.

LAS FASES DEL PROYECTO

IDEA (descubre más)

Esta fase tiene como objetivo trazar las líneas guía del proyecto:

  • Estudio y análisis del área objeto de intervención;
  • Definición de los ambientes y atmósferas luminosas en relación con los deseos del cliente;
  • Ilustración de la idea mediante imágenes, dibujos a mano, mood board;
  • Evaluación de la aportación de luz natural en relación con la luz artificial;
  • Impacto ambiental;
  • Examen de las normativas;
  • Estimación aproximada de los costos de la obra;
  • Facilidad de mantenimiento y tecnologías disponibles;
DESARROLLO DE LA IDEA (descubre más)

La idea se media a través de la técnica:

  • Verificaciones de iluminación técnica, definición de las características de la luz, de las fuentes y de los dispositivos;
  • Estimación detallada de los costos de la intervención;
  • Medidas para reducir la contaminación lumínica (estudios en laboratorio y medidas de campo) y para la conservación del entorno natural.
  • Seguridad fotobiológica y «Human Centric Light»: atención al impacto biológico y emocional de la iluminación sobre las personas;
  • Pruebas de campo, modelos y construcción de prototipos, incluso a escala 1:1;
  • Representación del proyecto mediante dibujos técnicos, bocetos de instalación, informes;

Se proporciona asistencia para la realización y construcción del proyecto:

  • Verificaciones técnicas del proyecto completo necesarias para su realización e instalación;
  • Cálculos detallados de los valores de la iluminación artificial (general y de emergencia) y natural;
  • Diseño ejecutivo de detalles y de dispositivos a medida;
  • Cálculo y análisis económico de todo el sistema;
  • Definición de las escenas luminosas y elección del tipo de control del sistema de iluminación;
  • Redacción de documentos técnicos para la instalación y construcción, informes técnicos, análisis.

La última fase consiste en la puesta en marcha del sistema de iluminación:

  • Asistencia a las brigadas de trabajo y supervisión en la realización del proyecto;
  • Apoyo en la fase de aprovisionamiento de materiales y relación con las empresas fabricantes;
  • Supervisión de la producción y modificación de cualquier dispositivo o accesorio;
  • Asistencia en la instalación de los dispositivos: ajuste de enfoque, direccionamiento, programación;
  • Configuración de las escenas luminosas;
  • Entrega de todos los documentos y manuales necesarios para el uso correcto del sistema.

  • Frankfurt am Main, Germany 🏆 During the award ceremony of the 2026 German Design Award, we received the prize for our museum lighting project for the “Raphael’s Cross” by Raphael Sanzio at the Museo Poldi Pezzoli. ✨ It was truly moving to receive this prestigious award, especially because, as stated in the jury’s motivation, this prize recognises the extensive work and research carried out to prevent the long-term degradation of pictorial pigments caused by light radiation. It can be made in just a few hours ⏱️, even by non-specialists, using easily available materials — which means it can also offer opportunities for social inclusion and empowerment among displaced communities. It can of course be used individually or combined with others to illuminate larger areas. ✨ “As humanitarian needs constantly grow and resources shrink,” - reads the award motivation - the lamp combines innovation with essential cost efficiency, needed to implement on a large scale […]. The simple sustainable designs make them usable in the most difficult conditions (with very limited access to technology)”. Thanks to its modularity and durability, Phluò can be applied in housing, schools, emergency medical facilities, and outdoor pathways. 🌍 The “Phluò” project is an opportunity to explore a new form of low-cost, sustainable lighting with a real-world application - not just theoretical - bringing light where it’s needed!   • 💡 Prototype of the “Phluò” phosphorescent lamp. It doesn’t need electricity to light up a small space ⚡, It shines for 12 hours 💡, It lasts for more than 25 years 🌍, And it costs only 5 euros 💶. “Phluò” is the name of the modular phosphorescent lamp prototype with which we won the competition “Application of Phosphorescence Technology for Toilet Lighting in Refugee Camps” promoted by IRC (International Rescue Committee) and Wazoku. The aim of the competition was to: “Identify sustainable and innovative solutions to make toilets for women and girls in refugee camps or settlements for internally displaced people safer and more comfortable, through the use of phosphorescent lighting.” The result was a lamp with a simple and sustainable design, which can also be used in the most difficult conditions and where access to technology is limited. 🌍 The “Phluò” project is an opportunity to explore a new form of low-cost, sustainable lighting with a real-world application - not just theoretical - bringing light where it’s needed!   • ✨ Showlight 25 ✨ A conference on theatrical lighting (and beyond), held every four years in a different city... This time, it was Dijon's turn! 🎤 “Thinks change According on how they are illuminated” On stage at Showlight 25, I shared my experience through a story that weaves together theatre and architecture. My talk focused on how architecture can change over time depending on variations in lighting, and how we might treat built spaces and artworks as if they were theatres, where light not only reveals, but guides and becomes part of the narrative, shaping tension, silence, and memory.
